Wish List

everybody should have a public wishlist. why? because it’s fun to dream, and it’s even better when you can start crossing things out. every once in a while, people even listen to what you have to say and surprise you with something that’s on it… hell, this wish list is the very reason i have this blog, and for that alone it deserves it’s own very special page. it will grow and adapt with the times, and maybe one of these days i’ll have everything crossed off.

Mixing Bowl Set. i own exactly 2 mixing bowls. one of them is so heavy, i don’t like to use it. the other one is aluminum, and while i love using it…a lot of my new found recipes call for more than one bowl. besides, they’re cheap. i want some nice ones. that don’t weight a ton. :P

Photography Classes. i’m stumbling through the use of my DSLR, but i am very well aware that i don’t use it properly. some day i would love to take a bonified college course on the use of an SLR camera, and be a real photographer, or at least be as good as i can be.

Cherry Pitter. i love cherries, and have wanted one of those things for years. i even bought one once, but i found one minutes later that was $5 cheaper and was so aggravated that i paid too much for it, i returned it and never went back for the cheaper one.

Giftcards to Any of the Following Places: (or similar stores) Target, Walmart, Buckle, Shoe Carnival, BabiesRus, Fredericks of Hollywood, Barnes and Noble, JCPenney, William Sonoma, Amazon.com, anywhere that sells Fossil products and probably a few more that i can’t think of right now. you get the picture.

Double Boiler. because your candies look like shit when you don’t melt the chocolate properly.

Pewter Fantasy Figurines. silly? yes. but they’re a guilty pleasure. i love ‘em. i’ve been collecting them for a long time, although i don’t have many. i just like ‘em. they’re pretty.

Fantasy Art Books. i have a few, and i love to sit on the bed when the house is quiet and look at all the pictures. Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell are 2 of my favorites.

Slave Bracelet. you know…the kind of bracelet that connects to a ring? i’ve always wanted one of those, but i have extra big hands, so every one i’ve found has either been extremely tacky or too small.

Tattoo. care to fund my next tattoo? ’cause i want another. but i have a feeling that’s something i’ll never be able to budget into my everyday life.

A Good Nights Sleep. because that’s what i’m really needing right now. i’m sure there are other things i’d love to have… but it’s bedtime. mama needs her beauty rest, eh?

Flowers. one thing i HATE hearing is “i don’t want to get you flowers, they’re so overdone”. well, not to me they aren’t! i’m a girl, i love flowers. they make me feel special and appreciated and if you gave me flowers, i would probably adore you forever. (hmmm… just noticed this is already here… i must really, really want them…)

Cedar Chest. you know…the kind that looks like a big treasure chest, often used for bedsheets and blankets? i’ve always wanted a nice big chest i can put my special stuff in, but i’ve never had one. i doubt anybody’s even realized i want one so badly.

Fancy Nightgowns. some for winter, some for summer…but i would really love to have old world style dressing gowns. i just think it would be so cool to spend my normal night-time sit on the couch and watch tv routine layed out in a fancy nightgown.

1 Carat Round Brilliant Amethyst or Fake Diamond Gem Stone. i had my engagement diamond reset a couple years ago, and i still have the original single stone setting in my jewelry box, sans-stone. i’d really like to get an amethyst set in it (yes, just because i LOVE purple so damn much) so i can wear some form of an engagement ring all the time. the other one is too expensive and nice to wear around the house, but sometimes my thin little wedding band gets lonely.

Patio Furniture. i love sitting outside and reading a book or just looking at the sky. unfortunately, we don’t have a single chair to sit on.

Vegan Cookbooks. we’re vegans now (visit Cafe Nobody for more info) and i’ve been scouring the web for recipes to feed my family. it works, but there’s nothing quite like having an actual cookbook to browse through.

Fossil Anything. the brand Fossil, that is. i have a thing for antique keys, and Fossil makes all their gorgeous handbags and the majority of their jewelry with them. i love their vintage style, and when it comes splurge time… that’s what i splurge on.

Turkey Cake Mold. i think it would kick ASS if i could make my “meat” loaf in a turkey shaped pan for Thanksgiving every year.

Food Press. how else would i get the water out of my Tofu?

Immersion Blender. because it would make some things SO much easier to cook.

Comfortable Men’s T-Shirts. i can’t seem to leave my husband’s shirts alone, and it drives him NUTS. last time i’m beginning to think i just need to start buying men’s shirts for myself from now on. M or L. whatever works for you… er, me.

Go the Fuck to Sleep, by Adam Mansbach. it’s a book. look it up. if you’re feeling especially froggy, look it up on YouTube and listen to Samuel Jackson reading it. it’s awesome.

PS3 Remote Controls. we need a couple extras.

Nail Dryer. it would make my mommy/daughter days easier.

Kala Namak Organic Salt. apparently, this is one of the secret ingredients in a Tofu Scramble. Tofu already has a texture remarkably similar to eggs, and when the funky soy taste is cooked out, it tastes like them too. This particular salt has just a little more sulfur in it, giving whatever you use it on a more sulfur-y taste… which is perfect for making something taste more egg-like.

Silpat. these stupidly expensive silicone baking sheet liners are supposedly the next best thing to sliced bread. They eliminate the need for constantly cutting parchment paper for your cookie sheets when you make cookies, and maybe even save a little money in the looooong run.

White Truffle Oil. Another ingredient i’m dying to work with. White Truffle Oil supposedly has a slightly less bold taste than Black Truffle Oil, which is why i want to work with it first. It’s the key ingredient in several recipes i want to try, and apparently is the “can’t leave out” ingredient in all of them.

The Following Books, in Hardcover: Changes, Ghost Story, Side Jobs, all by Jim Butcher.

… and that’s all for now!

One Response to Wish List

  1. Linda Loughner says:

I love the idea of a wishlist it’s much better then a damn bucket list I mean come on if I die it won’t matter then what was on the list I didn’t do..lol I think I’m gonna take the time over the next week or so to do my own list. Ironically there are a few items on your list that would fit on my list, coffee table being one, after my separation I left my ex take everything and I took my sanity back so starting over again sucks. Thanks alot for the great idea hope you don’t mind if I borrow it….Linda
