sure, sure i’m a little late. i bet you don’t mind.
this week was another already lovely photo… this time i took it in all different directions. i tried different crops, b&w, a brown photo filter, (sepia-ish) and even got a little funky with some cutting and adding ripple effects into the frame. hope you like what you see! oh- btw. if you have a photo you’d like me to mess around with feel free to ask me.

ah, yes. another fix it friday! i tried something a little different this time. i used my quick masking tool to select just the girl, and played around with differing tones on the girl and the background. i also did just sepia, and just a color correction. i really liked playing with this photo… it forced me to get my creative juices flowing and try something new.

Original Photo
the first fix has the girl in Sepia, and the landscape normal tones. i thought it was interesting, although looking back i probably should have done the revers… the landscape in sepia and the girl in normal tones. whatever.

the second one is all in Sepia.

the third was my normal color fix, although i don’t particularly care for it because i couldn’t lighten her face and darken the background without turning her into a tomato. i think she looks a little too blue, but it’s still my favorite fix.

sadly, my inspiration just hasn’t been hanging around lately. hopefully it’ll be back from vacation soon, and i can present you with more interesting and better done photo fixes. hopfully, i’ll get around to read the book about how to use my camera, and be able to present you with my own photos! anyways, check out the fix it friday I Heart Faces website. it’s awesome.

it’s fix it friday! whee hoo! actually, i’ve completely missed the last 3 weeks of Fix it Friday’s due to the move and general chaos around the house… i would have missed it this week too, if not for a wave of nausea that passed over me on our way to Home Depot. we promptly turned around, and after a cold cloth on my head and a little laying down i feel better. methinks the Lexapro may not be treating me as well as i thought it was.
more on that later, though. right now, it’s all about Fix it Friday!

here’s the original photo:

and here’s my fix. i didn’t do anything to it other than increase the quality of the photo with increased contrast and a warming filter on Photoshop CS. i also tried to go for a really cool effect, like antiquing with a blur around the edges- but i just couldn’t get it right, and didn’t have the energy to look up how to do so. *sigh* oh well.

Happy Friday Everyone!

with my mind dwelling in other places these past couple days, fix it friday didn’t bring me the joy it usually does. this picture was still fun to work with, even if it did take a little longer than usual. my first fix has my typical over contrasted color and the second one has been messed with… somehow. to be honest, i don’t exactly remember what i did. i think it had something to do with the photo filters. as usual, i used Photoshop CS to do everything.

yay! fix it friday! i’ve been waiting for this day since at least Tuesday. this photo posed yet another challenge to me. at this point, i think we should all assume from here on out that all photographs are a challenge to me, so that i don’t have to continue saying it and making myself feel bad.
SO. this week i had issues with the cropping. i still don’t particularly care for the cropping i did, but couldn’t come up with anything better, so there you have it.

Original Photo

On this one i did a little bit of cropping, and heightened the Brightness/Contrast. I also added a little bit of a Warming Filter, and brightened up the greenery as much as I could, to make it look less dark.

I like this one the best. I played around the with Sepia tone Photo Filter, then screwed around with settings on my Photoshop CS program that i neither remember, nor could probably find again. Go Figure. I like the Antique-y feel.
It's not a traditional photo-fix, but something about it just appeals to me.
