today is Pi Day. do i care? not particularly, but it gave me something to put in the title section of this post. in honor of Pi Day, here’s a bunch of randomness for you.
… after a 1 week break from the sickies, they’re back. we all have head colds again, which means my daughter was up every 30 minutes crying last night. my brain is fried this morning.
…my son called me a “hair cutting angel” yesterday because i finally took him to get a hair cut. it’s cute that he said that, but it makes me feel bad that he gets so excited about something so mundane… it’s like the child who gets excited over a simple piece of bread because they’re starving. they shouldn’t have to get excited over it, because it’s something they should have already, but don’t. the stylist practically had to get a weed whacker out to cut through the thick tangle of overgrown hair on his head.
…i am making a dragonfly costume. more accurately, i am making dragonfly wings, and bought an appropriately colored shirt and pants. i will post pictures when it is done and give you the whole story from beginning, to ultra fuck up, to end.
…we are probably going to cancel our cable in a few days in an effort to minimize the television watching in the house. we’ve decided we do it way too much. i will miss Chuck.
…i am harboring an intense dislike for school plays.
…this has been an absolutely terrible week. a few good things are scattered throughout it… a free bottle of shampoo, happy children, a good haircut, salvaging a costume after a horrible mistake, but for the most part i’m ready for this year to be OVER already.
…it’s been grey and dreary outside for what feels like forever. what the fuck happened to the sunshine??? i’m glad it’s not freezing or snowing outside, but because i am human and it’s in our nature to be selfish, i want more. i don’t just want it to be above freezing outside, i want it to be sunny and warm as well.
…my husband expressed concern over my mental health the other day. i blame the grey skies, head colds, my complete lack of social skills, and everything that requires money.
…my twitter feed isn’t showing anybody else’s posts from less than 3 days ago. i am trying not to freak out about it.
…i’m going to do laundry now.
