TEETHING!
yes, a set of my daughter’s molars made her spike a fever up to 102, made her get up 6 times a night unconsolably, and left her layed out on her toddler couch all day long. why didn’t i take her to the doctor, you may be wondering? well… the tylenol and motrin was bringing her fever down. she was still eating and drinking, and she wasn’t lethargic to the point of listlessness. had she showed further signs of physical deterioration, i would have taken her in immediately, but she was doing okay with Tinkerbell and Tylenol. i did, however, have plans to take her in immediately Monday morning if the fever still hadn’t abated… and come sunny Monday morning, she was back to her usual chipper self.
looking back, i should have seen the signs. i thought the constant shoving her hand in her mouth was just a subconscious longing for her pacifier… but now i’m thinking it was probably her mouth hurting her.
*sigh*
i never even noticed when my son’s teeth came in.
with my daughter, it’s a national emergency.
this girl is turning every parenting preconception i have from past experience, and turning it on it’s head.
i’m just glad she’s smiling again.
