i firmly believe everyone should indulge at least once every 3 months. what i forgot to mention, however, is that everyone should also be aware of the after-effects.
that laundry you decided not to do? will still be there the next day. so will the toys and books and shoes littering your floor. you will have twice as much toothpaste to clean out of your children’s bathroom sink, and you will have twice as much e-mail, fb messages, and texts to reply to. there will be twice as much dirt to vacuum and sweep up. you will still have to go to the grocery store to get all those things you decided you didn’t want to turn around to get while you were actually in the grocery store, and you will get twice as many complaints from your children when they want to know why they have to eat something healthy today, when they didn’t have to yesterday. you will also have to expend extra mental energy in your attempts not to think about the calories you consumed or the time you wasted.
don’t worry too much, it’s all worth it for that brief period of mental relaxation…
just be aware, that 99% of the time, each thing you put off today will need twice as much attention tomorrow.
fun times.
