I LIKE….

…symmetry and geometric lines.

…weird colored nail polish.

… hot tea.

… long hair.

… muscles.

… video games.

… warm pajamas.

… the summer time.

… pictures of magnified, real snowflakes.

… dragons, fairies, elves, and unicorns.

… the way a Christmas tree lights up a dark room.

… soft stuffed animals.

… real flowers.

… the smell of books and newspapers. not necessarily together.

… frozen strawberry lemonade.

… hot soup.

… sparkly things.

… the moon, stars, clouds, and the setting or rising sun.

… comments on my blog.

… personal letters and e-mails.

… margaritas on the rocks.

… sitting on my couch, watching a movie with good company.

… sweet, quiet children.

… frozen chocolate.

… sexy clothes and shoes.

… cool sheets in the summer, and warm sheets in the winter.

… the feeling i get after i’ve just written a good, long blog post in which i actually managed to convey the point i was trying to make. hasn’t happened lately.

… kissing my children on their temple. (you know, that soft spot next to their eyes)

… new gadgets.

… reading a good book.

… eating a good cookie.

… COFFEE.

You’d Think I’d Have More…

… to say right now. especially with my parents being buried hip-deep in the worst snow storm they’ve seen since their childhoods in Connecticut. or that i’d have more to say because i am yet again stuck at home, with nothing to do. but i just don’t. i think i’m in a bit of a funk… this whole “on the road” thing is proving to be a little more difficult to get used to than we remember… but have no fear. we’ll get used to it. i’ll update you in bullet points so you at least get something out of this pathetic excuse for a blog post.

  • i have moved my “nursing chair” (glider rocking chair) to the living room. i have to cease and desist with the night-time nursing sessions. not because i think it’s time, but because i have to. my stomach has once again reached acid levels that leave me curled up on the couch, nauseas and in pain after eating. a few years ago i had an upper g.i. done to figure out what’s wrong with me… my tummy was so red and irritated that they did a biopsy just to make sure it wasn’t cancerous. it was just “gastritis” (fancy, gross sounding word for an irritated stomach… mine being due to acid overproduction) and a hiatal hernia between my stomach and esophagus. i have to get back on my tummy meds, but i can’t take them if i’m nursing. my daughter will be 17 months old on christmas eve. i think it’s okay to stop.
  • today, i have done more laundry than i have this entire month. i have washed sheets, comforters, clothes, towels, diapers, you name it… and i’m still not done.
  • i’m considering getting a navel piercing. but i am hesitant, because it’s already been pierced 3 times and gone through 2 pregnancies. i don’t know if it will help hide the extensive scarring, or just make it more yucky.
  • i’ve given up on serious literature. i just don’t have the patience for new books anymore. i’m currently re-reading my all time favorite series, “Memory Sorrow and Thorn”, by Tad Williams. well, i’ll read it as soon as i stop working and blogging.
  • i got my husband’s christmas present in the mail today. i tried it on, and he’s gonna love it. ;)
  • i’ve ordered a belly dancing workout dvd from the library. i’ll let you know how it works out as soon as i get it, and use it regularly.
  • Time Warner Cable sucks BIG FAT SWEATY DONKEY BALLS. after having issues with their STUPID cable box from day 1, it has finally crapped out. we’ve been watching movies all day, because our EXPENSIVE digital cable service isn’t working. they’re coming between 8 and 9 tomorrow morning to fix it, but that isn’t going to help me RIGHT NOW like the big, fat, impatient woman that i am. *hrmph* i suppose i should just be grateful that they’re willing to come out on a Sunday to fix it, but i’ll withhold my thanks until after the tech is done fixing and/or replacing my cable box in a timely, POLITE fashion.
  • my put christmas lights up in front of the house yesterday. my son was utterly thrilled. that’s why i like christmas.
  • th-th-th-that’s all folks!
  • i’m a dork.
