i follow a blog called Make It and Love It. it’s a neat, craft-oriented blog that has tons of how-tos for home craft projects such as reviving old items and re-purposing them. (turning old scarves into cute leggings, turning shirts/skirts you don’t wear anymore into girl’s dresses, re-covering high chairs, etc.)
a couple weeks ago, she posted a Felt Mr. Potato head project, and it was just so cute, i knew i had to try it. if i failed, no big deal… it’s cheap to make, and all i’d be losing is the time. luckily, it didn’t turn out too bad. sure, my Mr. Potato Head is actually a Mrs. Potato Head, but for a toddler, i think she’ll do. if i can keep Mrs. Potato head’s ears out of E’s mouth, we’ve got a good, quiet toy on hand and ready for Christmas wrapping paper. she certainly isn’t nearly as good as Ashley’s, but i made it, and i think i deserve a few points for effort. especially since i’m such a godawful seamstress. i mean… i’m really bad. so this is quite an accomplishment for me.
as soon as the glue dries, i’m gonna load the accessories into her butt-flap, and wrap her up in a box for under the tree. part of me wants to chuck it, because it really isn’t good enough for a Christmas present, but the practical part of me says that it’s one more thing under the tree, and right now that’s what we need. so here she it… Mrs. Potato head.

She has an extra mouth, hat, ears, and eyes.
