before grey’s and hell’s kitchen comes on, i have to tell you about this book.
so, we all remember my post about Twiligh? (it’s under my the “books” label) i didn’t have anything good to say about the trilogy other than “i liked it okay the first time i read it”.
anyways.
so i decided to give Stephanie Meyer a second chance, and read her newest book, The Host.
holy hell she hit a home run with that one! i LOVED it. if i had read Twilight, then read The Host without knowing the author, i would never have known that they were by the same person.
the characters were well developed, and likeable. they weren’t overly weak, whiney, and they were even believeable. i gave it the 3-time-run just like i did with Twilight just to be sure…and i still love it! i couldn’t even get through Twilight the third time.
so if you’re looking for a good sci-fi/alternate earth read…i highly recommend The Host.
sorry my book reviewing skills aren’t really up to par…i’ve never been that good with writing about books and movies.
off to watch Hells Kitchen with the hubby.

today, i have been a busy bee.
i’ve noticed lately, that facebook seems to be the “in” social networking site. originally, i had planned to stay loyal to myspace…i’ve been on myspace for years, and i know it inside and out. BUT. there’s no point in being on a team if you’re the only member, so i joined facebook. i’ve spent the day searching out people i know so i can get the “friendlist” ball rolling, and putting up a couple pictures so that people i used to know can look at them and go “wow, she has some GORGEOUS kids!”
i also made a new username and siggy on my message boards, but that’s board business, not blog business. i only mention it because it took a LONG time. i guess if i hadn’t organized my photobucket account it wouldn’t have taken so long, but i did- so i feel it’s mention worthy.
after i post this blog, i am officially on an internet strike until tonight. enough is enough, i say!
the rest of the day will include laundry, spinning, (bicycle spinning, not yarn spinning- although we do have a spinning wheel in the house…) playing with the baby, helping K with his homework, possibly finally sewing up that diaper that i started, and maybe even getting a little reading done.
oh, and it’s Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice night, so that is definitely on my list of non-internet related things i’m going to do before bedtime.
fun!
