I Just Noticed This Post Didn’t Have a Name…

have you ever been told that you should make a lot of noise around your baby so that they won’t be light sleeper?

well, it’s BULLSHIT.
my daughter slept in a pack n play in the livingroom for the first few weeks of her life so that she would get used to the noise. i even played music on the radio so she’d be used to it at night. but now? she can’t sleep with the tiniest bit of noise in her room. a mouse farts and she wakes up. it’s really frustrating because i think that’s the main reason she can’t sleep at night- our heater kicks on/off/on/off all night long, and every time it does so, she wakes up. not that it matters at the moment, because we’re both in the livingroom while she’s got the crud. but that’s a blog for another day. or yesterday.
anyways, so she wakes up really easy. that makes it damn near impossible to get anything done around the house while she’s napping. trust me, if you had a kid that sleeps as badly as her, you’d tiptoe around too if that’s what it took.
so today i sneaked in her room while the poor thing is trying to nap, and start gathering the dirty clothes. i’ve been seriously slacking off with the laundry lately (well, i suppose i always do that, don’t i?) and i HAVE to get started. ugh.
just an fyi on me- i sound like rice crispies when i move. seriously, in a quiet room the snap crackle and pop of my bones is very audible.
when i bent down to grab the little pile of baby clothes that have been accumulating for the past couple days, my shoulder popped and she woke up.
she sleeps on her tummy, so her head snapped up instantly, she snorted one of those congested baby snorts, she whimpered, and farted a big, long man-fart. then plopped her head back down after surveying the room and not seeing anyone. (i was bent down, and actually hid behind a crib aquarium. i am crazy pathetic, huh?)
ahhhh, my sweet precious, man-farting little girl. she’s gonna be a looker, but holy hell i don’t have to worry about scaring the boys away because her intestines will do the job for me. she’s so funny.
