A Gimpy Black Cat Crossed My Path on Friday the 13th

seriously. that happened to me this morning. well, all of us actually. we were in the car on the way to make coffee deliveries and take E to the doctors.

i won’t bore you with the details, and quite frankly, i’m too tired to make the effort. but i will give you the short version.
so my husband dropped me and the baby off at the peds and took my son to get something to eat. they had a sat down dinner at a restaurant, visted two fish stores, and did a couple other odds and ends while waiting on us- because E and i were in the waiting room for over an hour.
ugh.
normally i wouldn’t complain, [too much] but this time i got to see someone vomit (seriously lady, the reason you brought the fucking bucket was so that you could keep it in front of your kids head, not in front of YOUR FEET) got stared at close up at by some wierd kid who’s mom wasn’t paying attention to him, and got sympathetic looks from another mom who had a crying baby a little older than E.
after another mom came in with another sick kid, and asked him if he was going to be sick, i decided i had had enough of the vomit and the screaming. i asked for a lactation room so i could feed my baby. (score one for breastfeeding!)
i happily retreated to the comfort of a private room with soothing low lighting, a glider rocking chair, and a sink. (because washing my hands at that point felt like HEAVEN) i fought the urge to cry, and got my baby fed. once i finished with her, we went back into the waiting room and the kid was gone. whoo hoo!
the good news is, E doesn’t have pneumonia, and i didn’t go there for nothing. she has an ear infection.
so we went to target and got her antibiotics and hauled ass home. i got a shower immediately. i also threw both of my kids in there. yes, my son, my daughter (who can thankfully sit in the shower) and i both got in there together and washed the absofuckinglutely disgusting germs of the day off us. thank goodness our shower is huge, eh?
now, i’m sitting here eating some comfort ramen (with a few mixed veggies thrown in so i don’t feel TOO guilty about the lack of nutrition) and am about to play Little Big Planet with my favorite boy.
ugh, what a day. i didn’t even mention the parts that happened that aren’t baby related.
